Camp Activities and Logistics

Testimonials from our past participants

"My experience at the Rocky Mountain Cross Country Camp was great. Each morning, we
eagerly laced up our running shoes, a group of young enthusiasts ready to tackle whatever lay
ahead. Running along several paths that led through dense forests, over babbling streams, and
at the top of one of our runs, a beautiful waterfall, we shared laughter and encouragement,
pushing each other to new limits. The challenge of steep inclines only fueled our determination,
and reaching the summits together rewarded us with breathtaking sceneries that stretched for
miles. The pictures taken were like no other, and the feeling of the cool crisp air is unmatched.
Along with the beautiful runs, other activities like volleyball, basketball, kayaking, white water
rafting, and more are provided at the camp. Meal times were especially memorable, we
gathered with people from other schools, swapping tales of our lives, sharing our interests, and
forming bonds despite our differences. If I could change anything about the camp, I would
make it last forever." -Sajid, 2023

"I have had a great experience with RMXCC! Having an opportunity to run in the mountains with some of
my best friends is an experience I will never forget. It was such a fun way to end my summer, and I will
forever be grateful that I got to go on this trip. The scenery was beautiful, and everything was catered
towards my individual needs. I loved eating meals with my team, and hanging out in the rooms together.
We also get the opportunity to go into town and shop/eat during the day. Estes Park was so beautiful and
had so many fun shops and restaurants to visit! One of my favorite memories was having the bonfire at
the end of the week. I met some amazing people from other teams, and having the opportunity to have
fun with them and say goodbye was so special. RMXCC was one of the coolest things that I've had the
opportunity to do, and I look forward to doing it again next year!  -Madelyn, 2023

"During my time at RMXCC, I was able to challenge myself both physically and mentally every day. I have
found it to be difficult to complete multiple runs in the same day during the majority of my career as a high
school runner. Even during the Summer, it hasn't been easy to motivate myself nor find the energy to
complete that many runs consistently. However, during each of my three years spent in Colorado at
RMXCC, I was able to put in more work than I had any other week of the entire summer while running at
altitude. Not only did I maximize my training while still feeling energized for every single run, but I received
a boost in confidence at the end of the week after seeing how far I was able to push myself. Having a
week like that at the end of the Summer has been just the thing I've needed to going into each cross
country season. Any runner, new or experienced, will benefit from having a week like this built into their
training." – Aidan, 2021
